Well, I gave it a fair shake, but I think I'm done with this show. I may watch it again if there's a guest star I really like (are Chris Potter and Nicholas Lea busy?), but that's about it.
I knew it was time to quit when even the whumping didn't hold my interest. Whump eps have always been my favorites, but this time I didn't feel anything. In fact, I was so bored that I had to break out the sudoku book to kill time between Joe Flanigan's scenes. I haven't had to use the sudoku book as a crutch since the final season of Stargate SG-1.
I'm not sure I can explain why this show bores me so much, but it does. I love the premise. I love the artifacts that Pete and Myka go after. I love the steampunk tech. But ultimately I'm a character-driven person, and I'm not invested in these characters at all. The addition of Claudia didn't help. It's not that I hate her or anything, but Warehouse 13 isn't the kind of show that can support an ensemble cast. TPTB were having a hard enough time developing the characters they already had.
I was happy to see Joe Flanigan though. I missed the hair. And the sense of humor. Unfortunately, the script didn't really give him much to do. And it didn't help that I kept thinking the Flan would have made a better Pete than Eddie McClintock.
