I haven't posted anything in 2 1/2 weeks? Must be the heat and the utterly ridiculous humidity getting me down. Summer TV isn't helping.
The state of my summer TV watching:
Lie to Me -- I gave up. I really liked the sciencey bits in the first season, but this season Lightman just cocks his head to one side like a bewildered golden retriever and announces the subject is lying. ::cocks head like a golden retriever:: Nope, not so much with the interested.
Persons Unknown -- I gave up on this one too. I liked it at first for how much it reminded me of The Village on The Prisoner, but the big difference between The Prisoner and Persons Unknown is that The Prisoner focused on the tribulations of one person, not an ensemble. I eventually realized that I loved the town but hated all the people in it and didn't care what happened to them, so I quit watching.
Eureka -- Go on, you'll never guess. Yeah, I gave up on this one too. I've seen a lot of people post that they think this is Eureka's best season ever, but it's boring me to death. And if they reset the timeline like they did after Henry brought Kim back, then none of this season will have happened anyway, which makes me feel like I'm wasting my time watching it. So I'm not.
Haven -- I didn't think I would like this one, but I do. It's a nice throwback to The X-Files, and I like the characters and the town. I'm also dying to find out what happened between Nathan and Duke. I get the feeling that they used to be good friends once, and that whatever ended that friendship is more on Nathan's side. If Nathan ever gets over whatever his issue is, I think Duke would take him back as a friend in a hot second.
Top Shot -- My guilty pleasure reality show. The challenges are really creative and fun, although I could do without the Drama. The host is kind of annoying too. Sadly, my favorite contestant was bounced last week, but there's only one episode left.
Rubicon -- The jury's still out on this one. There's a nice atmosphere of paranoia and suspense, but not much is actually happening. I'm not really feeling anything for the characters yet, but every time I think about giving up on the show, the plot shows up and does something interesting. I don't know if I'll make it 'til the end of the season, but I'm hanging in there so far.
I can't wait for the next round of Ninja Warrior on Saturday.
